The Thrash-Metal-Trio Warfield from Germany contains exactly what the name does promise. Tight, unmistakable riffs and tons of shredding are unleashed upon the crowd at rapid speed! This furious attack is accompanied by energetic and fast drums. With hailing bassdrum-thunder, each stage is demolished within a short time, no matter if big or small! The lyrical content is based on political and social injustices and the wars of our "society" and is expressed in the most brutal way. There’s no time for experiments - aggression and rage are the highest precept. This musical battlefield that is Johannes Clemens (Vocals & Bass), Matthias Clemens (Guitar) and Dominik Marx (Drums) is inspired by bands like Slayer, Sodom or Kreator, mixed with the irresistible idols of the Bay Area. After the EP "Call to War" was released in 2014, the debut album “Wrecking Command” was published via Metal on Metal Records on 27th of April 2018!

Biography

​

The first band formation took place with the introduction of bassist Frederik Pütz in early 2012, after Johannes Clemens, Matthias Clemens and Dominik Marx had already played together a couple of years. It wasn’t that difficult to find a style of playing when you have some of the biggest Thrash Metal Titans in your own country. The speed, the aggression and the anger mesmerized the band from day one and so they decided to represent their music in that fast and direct way it is.

 

After a few shows, including the gig at the Metallergrillen Open-Air 2013, Dominic Potts joined the band in fall of 2013 to occupy the second guitar. In the spring of 2014, the work for the Debut-EP "Call to War" had begun, which was released in October of 2014 via IMM-Records/Membran.

 

Shortly thereafter Frederik Pütz had to leave the band and was replaced by Ethan Stokes at the beginning of 2015. With him the band put out the single “Barrage Fire”and also shot a video clip, which was published as a Single on 28/08/2015.

 

At the end of 2015, Dominic Potts and Ethan Stokes both left the band due to time issues. Therefore, Marc Hirschbach had occupied the Four-String as a session/live member. After they played a lot of club shows all over Germany, in 2016 Warfield was booked for many different Metal-Nights and festival shows. So they began playing shows near Switzerland; at the Taunus Metal Meeting with underground idols like Ketzer, Warrant, Iron Kobra and Evil Invaders; the Bonebreaker Festival with Dew-Scented and Dust Bolt; not to forget the Pälzer Hell-Festival, a “hometown” event together with Schirenc plays Pungent Stench.

In this cast, the focus was laid on the release of their debut album “Wrecking Command”. Over the years a lot of songs were written, some new stuff was completed and finally 10 skull-breaking songs were recorded in Kaiserslautern from February – March 2017. With “Martyr”, “Call to War” and “Under the Surface” the album includes three songs which are also found on the EP, now offering an even more aggressive and powerful sound.

In the meantime, the band played alongside Steelwing at their farewell gig and got an offer to tour the Czech Republic together with the Punk Thrashers from Insanity Alert. From the 6th – 10th of June 2017 Warfield was touring through the Czech Republic and took the chance to get more attention from foreign countries. During the festival season they returned to the Metallergrillen Open-Air once again and thrashed the stage together with alcoholic metal legends Tankard. Due to the positive feedback the group filled in as a support band for Dust Bolt and Bay-Area-Legends Exodus. Since then, many more shows throughout the whole country have been played and more are being booked. After recording the bass guitar for the debut album, Johannes Clemens then took over the Four-String fulltime and since then Warfield destroys the stages as the original trio.

In 2018 the band got an offer from Metal on Metal Records to publish and promote the album. “Wrecking Command” finally was released via Metal on Metal Records on 27th of April 2018! Currently the trio is writing new music for their anticipated follow up album.
